What’s Going On?- Back to School Events

Well ATL, if you have school age kids, the relaxed summer schedule is over! Class is in session and getting kids ready for school can create anxiety and stress (especially for parents of 1st time students). Most counties will start or have started classes this week. And in honor of that, some school systems & organizations are hosting events around Georgia for parents and students. Most events were held last weekend, but there are still a few events left to take advantage of.

Check out some of the events below, inhale & exhale and let’s get these kids ready for the world!

Back to School Bash – Friday, Aug. 4th (10:00am – 1:00pm). Riverdale Town Center (7210 Church Street, Riverdale, GA). Free supplies, free health screenings, entertainment & face painting.

Back 2 School Bash – Saturday, Aug. 5th (9:00am – 1:00pm). Southern Crescent Stadium (6231 Garden Walk Blvd. Riverdale, GA). Join Frank Ski and the V-103 crew for Clayton County’s back to school bash.

Atlanta Back 2 School Food Festival – Saturday, Aug. 5th (noon- 5:30pm, parade starts @ 11:30am). Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre (5239 Floyd Rd SW, Mableton, GA). Kid friendly event featuring food trucks, music, clothing, and information on health, education, art, and after-school care programs for families. Enjoy a culinary experience from Metro Atlanta’s restaurants, caterers, and food trucks.

Back To School Fashion Event – Saturday, Aug. 5 (2:00pm -4:00pm). Mall of Georgia, located in the Von Maur court near Sephora. Enjoy on-stage fashion segments, DJ, photo booth, giveaways, and more!
