“And I wish on all the rainbows that I see, I wish on all the people who really dream. And I’m wishing on tomorrow, praying it’ll come”. If you don’t recognize the lyrics to this awesome song, it’s “Wishing on a Star” by Rose Royce. In this song she is obviously talking about her lover & missing him. Well I’m changing the object of desire to PEACE & LOVE, for you, me and the entire world.
Christmas is absolutely my favorite time of year. It represents a time for giving, sharing and thinking of others and even though this holiday brings joy, it also brings sadness for me. Because no matter how much I may give to my favorite charities & organizations, it’s never enough. Someone is still hungry, someone doesn’t have shelter, innocent children are being abused and the list goes on and on. Negative news stories, hate & violence seems to over shadow the good in the world and at times…it becomes too much. And yes wishing for world peace is ridiculous and the expectation is just way to high, so I wish for human understanding, that each individual experience inner peace, love & happiness. I firmly believe if a person possesses these three things, the world would be a better place. How can you hate someone for being different, if you are COMPLETLY at peace and happy with yourself. So Atlanta, I’m not preaching to you this evening and I’m not saying I’m perfect, we are an unfinished project working towards greatness. What I’m saying is however you need to find your inner peace (yoga, meditation, prayer, tai chi), find it and spread that love and joy, change the world, one small step at a time. 🙂
Thank you for listening and I want to leave you with a great Christmas song, by the one and only Stevie Wonder “Someday At Christmas”, I love this song! Who can sing about peace, equality & compassion better than Stevie!
